Mission Statement

As a candidate for authorization as an IB school, the International School of Kungsholmen aspires to create a cohesive and welcoming environment where students can grow intellectually, culturally, and emotionally. Our primary goal is to provide a challenging and globally-minded space for students to discover their passions and flourish.

To achieve this mission, we are dedicated to cultivating student voice, choice, and curiosity through inquiry-based learning, all the while emphasizing respectful and caring relationships among students, staff, and parents. By promoting diversity, intercultural education, perseverance, and integrity, we prepare our students to face future opportunities and challenges, nurturing their growth as lifelong learners and responsible global citizens.

Our philosophy is firmly rooted in the vision of creating a collaborative and diverse community that aims to make the world a better place through meaningful education. Language learning and cultural understanding are fundamental aspects of our curriculum, encouraging our students, their families, and our staff to embrace and celebrate different identities and cultures.

We actively promote collaboration and the development of an agency and growth mindset among our students. Embracing the IB Learner Profile attributes, we strive to instill values of open-mindedness, empathy, and integrity in all our stakeholders.

Reflective practices and feedback play a crucial role in our continuous improvement efforts, helping us to deepen our understanding and enhance the teaching and learning experience within our school.

We recognize the significance of taking action to connect our learning to real-life situations and contribute positively to the world around us. By fostering a sense of responsibility and a commitment to improving ourselves and our community, we instill in our students the belief that they can make a meaningful difference in the world.
